Creation Statement for Flexible Stone Engineering

Creation Statement for Flexible Stone Engineering

This work is a textual work.

Purpose of Creation: To address the problems in urban renewal facade retrofit—complex substrates, construction disturbance constraints, strict fire compliance, and difficult cost control—as well as the fragmentation of flexible stone application experience and the lack of systematic methods, this work aims to build an engineering knowledge system that is analyzable, verifiable, replicable, and trainable.

Creation Process: Since 2019, the editorial team has carried out industry research, enterprise visits, formula and process experiments, and engineering tracking. After the company was established in 2024, the team systematically organized materials, standards, policies, construction, acceptance, and operations and maintenance materials, and after multiple rounds of revision and final editing, formed the Introduction, five parts, thirty-three chapters, and appendices.

Originality: This work is the first to be named “Flexible Stone Engineering” and to establish the five-part structure of “Momentum, Way, Craft, Tools, and Landscape”; it proposes the three-layer structure of applicable boundaries and four non-negotiable boundaries, the six major modules, four matches, and three typical schemes of facade retrofit systems, the construction standardization of “one scrape, two apply, three press, four level,” life cycle cost argumentation, digital material selection and operations and maintenance methods, and other methods; it cross-integrates materials science, civil engineering, engineering management, engineering economics, public policy, and digital tools; and it forms checklists, processes, and scripts through desensitized case reviews. The work was independently organized and completed by the company, without plagiarism of others’ works.
