Background & Challenges
This international hotel is located in Russia, and its interior design aims to create a warm, luxurious, and highly textured spatial atmosphere (as shown in the image). The design extensively uses a light beige woven linen texture for the walls and curved bar counter, paired with natural travertine countertops and shelves.
However, this massive 26,000 square meters interior project faces the fatal test of Russia’s extreme cold weather:
- Brittle Cracking Risk from Extreme Cold: During Russia’s long winters, whether materials are stored and transported in unheated environments or during construction, conventional flexible materials are highly prone to polymer chain scission due to low temperatures, resulting in brittleness, cracking, and peeling.
- Conformity Challenges for Curved and Complex Shapes: The bar counter base in the image is a perfect semi-circle, and the walls have undulating curves. Traditional rigid materials cannot achieve seamless wrapping.
The Solution: Ultra-Low Temperature Emulsion + Rigorous SGS Temperature Testing
To completely conquer the extreme cold climate, the technical team at Guangdong Fortune Stone New Material Co., Ltd. customized a dedicated ultra-low temperature system solution for the client:
- Ultra-Low Temperature Resistant Emulsion: Relying on our core patent “High-Flexibility Emulsion and Its Preparation Method” (Application No.: CN202610376325.2), we reconstructed the molecular chains through a monomer pre-emulsified semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization process. This allows the material to maintain leather-like flexibility at -30℃, completely eliminating brittleness.
- SGS High-Low Temperature Extreme Testing: We didn’t just rely on lab data; we sent the product to SGS for rigorous high-low temperature cycle and temperature change resistance tests (GB/T 4085 and JG/T 25 standards). The authoritative reports were issued to prove to the client its immunity to Russia’s drastic temperature shifts.
